I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! I can't wait until next year when we are back in the U.S. and can truly celebrate my favorite holiday.
Since Christopher and I are leaving this afternoon, this was our "Thanksgiving" dinner...pad thai, laab and fresh mango. Laab is ground meat (pork or chicken) salad flavored with chiles, fresh lime juice and fish sauce and then served with lettuce leaves for wrapping. It is very similar to P.F. Chang's "Chicken Lettuce Wraps", just spicier. While dinner was delicious, it certainly wasn't traditional.
Christopher and I are all packed for our trip and will leave right after school finished this afternoon. He will play in two games tomorrow, two games Saturday and one game on Sunday and we will fly back to Bangkok Sunday evening. Kevin leaves Sunday morning to go back to the U.S. The time flies so quickly when he is here - it seems like just yesterday he was returning here from the U.S. and now he is going back already. He will be here for a bit longer during the December holidays so we will have a little more time together then, although it will be very busy.
I still have no idea as to what will happen with the rally-that-might-turn-into-a-coup on Sunday. There have been a few more articles about it in the paper this week and it is still scheduled for Sunday. What the end result will be is anyone's guess and we will be keeping a close eye on the situation. Unfortunately, because of the timing of our flights on Sunday, Caitlynne will be here by herself for a while. We went back and forth on whether or not she should come along with Christopher and I, just in case. However, Kevin spoke with a few people from the Embassy and, based on those conversations, we decided *should* be okay for her to stay here. She will be with her friends most of the day on Sunday and we did appoint a temporary guardian in the event she needs medical care so I think (and hope) all bases are covered.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
